Stripes · Brush or vinyl
A stripe by brush, or cut from vinyl
Photo to follow
A plotter cuts a vinyl stripe to the same width from one end to the other, and it can be peeled off again later. When we pull a brush along a tank, the line follows the curve and gets slightly thicker and thinner as it goes, the stripes on the two sides never quite match, and the paint stays on the bike for good.
We do both. For a brush line we load enough paint to do the whole run in one pull, since stopping to reload can leave a visible join, and the painter runs the brush along the line just above the surface first until the movement is right. For vinyl we cut the stripe to the width you want and lay it on in one piece.
Paint takes longer and the next owner can't remove it, so if you'd rather keep the option of taking the stripe off, ask for vinyl.
If you'd like a stripe on your own tank, send us a photo of the bike, the colour you have in mind, and whether it should be paint or vinyl.
