Paint protectionfilm.

Avery Dennison PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a premium polyurethane protective film applied over a vehicle's painted surfaces to protect the original paint from stone chips, road debris, scratches, insect stains, UV exposure and everyday wear. It is designed to be optically clear, so the original paint remains visible.

Stone chips andpaint correction

A chip in the paint stays there until the panel is repainted, but film that's taken a chip can be replaced. We film the whole car, not just the front, so there's no bare panel left for the next stone to find.

We polish out swirl marks and light scratches before any film or coating goes on. Put a coating over uncorrected paint and the scratches get sealed in under the gloss, where you'll keep seeing them in sunlight. It's usually the slowest part of the job.

What we cover

Full body,not a front kit

We don't offer partial packages. Full-body film is the job, and the interior and the sunroof can be covered on top of it.

01

Full body PPF

Film on every painted panel. Every one is prepared, laid, squeegeed and edge-wrapped wherever the edge allows.

Front and rear bumpers, bonnet, front and rear fenders, all doors, quarter panels, side skirts, roof, boot or tailgate, mirrors, door handles and the other high-contact spots.
02

Interior PPF

Clear film on the cabin surfaces that take the most contact and wear.

03

Sunroof PPF

Film over the sunroof glass.

How it goes on

How we fitthe film

Ten steps, in this order, on every car.

01

Inspection

We check the paint for scratches, dents and contamination under the LED grid.

02

Deep clean

The car is washed and decontaminated.

03

Paint correction

Scratches, swirls and marks that can be polished out are, before any film goes on.

04

Surface prep

A final wipe of each panel to lift oils, dust and residue.

05

Pattern prep

The film for each panel is prepared.

06

Application

The film goes on with slip solution and is positioned by hand.

07

Squeegee and stretch

Solution and air are worked out while the film is kept aligned and under the right tension.

08

Edge wrap and tuck

The film is wrapped and secured around every edge that allows it.

09

Final inspection

We look for bubbles, lifting, contamination and alignment.

10

Cure and handover

The film is left to settle, and you get the aftercare instructions with the keys.

Avery Dennisonfilm

We're an Avery Dennison Authorised Installer, and you'll see those words on the sign at the front of the studio. Avery Dennison lists its films on its own site.

We wrap the film around the edges and tuck it behind each panel instead of trimming it on the visible face, so the edge only shows with a door or the bonnet open.

Why Avery Dennison

What the filmdoes

01

Heals light marks

When the film warms up, light swirl marks and fine wash scratches in its surface close up again, so it doesn't go dull the way a bare clear coat does.

02

Takes the chip

The film is polyurethane and it stretches. When a stone hits, the film gives and soaks up most of the impact, so the panel under it comes away with far less damage. Grit from everyday washing marks the film too, and the paint under it stays as it was.

03

Hard to spot

It's made to be optically clear, so the colour and finish you see are the car's own, and the gloss stays.

04

Sheds water and dirt

The surface is hydrophobic. Water, dust and road grime don't hold on to it well, it resists staining from insects and the rest of what a road throws up, and it stands up to UV, so the paint under it is slower to oxidise and fade.

05

Follows the curves

It stretches around bumpers and mirrors without pulling back, which is a big part of why the edges can be wrapped and tucked cleanly.

06

Comes off without a repaint

When the film reaches the end of its life, or you want a fresh piece, it's removed professionally and the paint under it is as it was. Nothing needs repainting.

07

Holds the resale value

Because the original paint is kept as it was, the car goes to its next owner without the chips and wash marks of the years in between.

08

More than one range

Avery Dennison makes several PPF ranges, from film for a daily driver up to their top range for luxury cars. The warranty is Avery Dennison's and depends on the range, so we'll tell you which one applies when we quote.

09

Suited to our weather

A lot of protection products were developed for cooler, milder places. A car here gets heat, hard sun, monsoon humidity and dust, often all in the same year, and Avery Dennison offers film suited to those conditions.

Film or ceramic

Film and ceramicare separate

01

Paint protection film

A stretchable film that sits on the paint. It physically takes the stone hits and the wash scratches, and it heals its own light swirl marks with heat.

02

Ceramic coating

A chemical coating that bonds to the clear coat and makes it harder, which adds gloss and means the paint doesn't pick up scratches as quickly. It won't stop a stone. The details are on the detailing page.

03

Never both on one panel

Ceramic over PPF gives the film an instant shine, which is why people ask for it. We don't do it. The coating stops the film healing itself and goes on to damage the whole film, so a panel here gets one or the other.

Before you ask

Film andcoating.

What is paint protection film?

A clear polyurethane film, in a matte or gloss finish, laid over the paint to take the stone chips and light scratches that would otherwise land on it. Once it's on, it's hard to spot from a metre away.

Will it damage my paint when it comes off?

Not on sound factory paint, as long as it's peeled off slowly with heat. Paint that was already flaking or has been resprayed can lift with it, so we look for both under the grid before quoting.

Is ceramic coating the same thing?

No. A ceramic coat is a thin, hard layer that makes the car easier to wash, but a stone goes straight through it to the paint, while film is thick enough to take the chip. You can have both on the same car as long as they're on different panels, because ceramic over film stops the film healing itself and ends up damaging it.

Which film do you fit?

Avery Dennison, on every car that comes in.

Can I do just the front of the car?

No. We only fit full-body film, so no painted panel is left bare. Interior film and sunroof film are separate jobs you can add to it.

Before we quote, we'll look at the paint with you under the grid.
