Film on a black Range Rover Velar

Black paint shows everything. Every wash mark, every swirl from a dusty cloth, every chip on the bonnet reads white against it. So a black Velar is the car that gets the most out of film, and also the one where any dust under the film would show straight away.
We polished the paint first, under the ceiling grid, until the reflected lines ran straight on every panel. Film seals in whatever is underneath it, so a scratch that goes on under the film stays there for the life of the film. Only then did the Avery Dennison Optima Plus go on, panel by panel, with the edges wrapped round behind each panel.
The finish is smoother than the paint was, the gloss is deeper, and water runs off the film instead of sitting on it. If you own a black car and want it to stay looking like it did on the day you collected it, this is the job.
If your paint is black and already has wash marks in it, send us a photo and we'll say whether it needs polishing before the film.
